Privacy Policy

Profit Guard is operated by Ibrahim Gul Butt (trading as “Meyaartech”), an individual sole proprietor based in Pakistan. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect from your Shopify store, how we use it, and how we keep it safe.

1. Information We Collect

• Shop domain and access token (used for Shopify API authentication)
• Product and variant data including titles, prices, and inventory unit costs
• Order data: order ID, line item quantities, revenue, discount amount, shipping cost
• Cost of Goods Sold values you enter manually, upload via CSV, or sync from Shopify
• App configuration settings (payment fees, shipping method, alert email, currency, timezone)
• Rule definitions and rule execution history

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

• Customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any personally identifying information
• Customer billing, shipping, or IP addresses
• Payment card numbers or any cardholder data
• Any data from end-shoppers outside the cart-line and discount-code context

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data above strictly to provide the Profit Guard service: calculate per-order margins, evaluate rules at checkout, and surface analytics inside the embedded app. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your data with third parties for marketing or analytics purposes.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+). Backups are taken daily and retained for 30 days. Access is restricted to the operator.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

When you uninstall Profit Guard, all your store data is permanently deleted within 48 hours, per Shopify's GDPR requirements. You can also request earlier deletion at any time by emailing the address below. We honour the standard Shopify privacy webhooks (customers/redact, customers/data_request, shop/redact).

6. Sub-Processors

We use a small number of third-party services to operate Profit Guard. The full list of sub-processors, with current vendor names and regions, is available on request at the contact email below — we send the latest version within one business day. Shopify is implicitly listed, since your store data already lives there and we only read what is needed.

7. Your Rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar regulations, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the data we hold about your store. Contact us at the address below to exercise any of these rights — we respond within 30 days.

8. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of material changes by updating the version number and date at the top of this page. The current version is 2.0 (last updated 2026-05-22).
